Sekitar Series

Sekitar Series

Sekitar Bench grew from close observation of self-built benches that appear again and again in everyday public space. Those seats reflect a quiet vernacular — shaped by necessity, adaptability, and social rhythm.

Vernacular, then modular

Improvised from found materials, these structures keep a persistent design language. Through this project, that language is reinterpreted as a modular bench system — desain sekitar: design shaped by context, by people, and by needs that arise in the spaces between.

Design shaped by context, by people, and by the needs that arise in the in-between spaces around us.

Sekitar does not invent a new street furniture type; it listens to one already in use, then clarifies it into flat-pack modules.
